Profiled Die Heat Sealing

Each Profiled Die Heat (PDH) sealing system features a precise temperature controller, individual power supply and a bespoke shaped heated die designed by our engineers to meet the requirements of the application.

Our Profiled Die Heat (PDH) sealing technology replaces existing sealing systems that use bulky tooling plates with cartridge heaters. It incorporates highly conductive, small-section dies that heat up to operating temperature and cool down quicker than traditional heat sealing methods. 

The fitting of a unique heat transfer module monitored by an accurate temperature controller allows the applied heat to be regulated to within one degree across the entire sealing surface. The low mass heat energy eliminates the requirement for any water cooling and consistent, reliable seals are produced due to the stable and precise weld temperature.

The heat is conveyed only to the contact sealing face, rather than dispersing into the surrounding environment or being retained in the mass of the parent machine. The ability to transfer heat rapidly means that energy losses are far lower compared to traditional heat systems.

Profiled Die Heat (PDH) sealing systems can be supplied as a retrofit module and also designed into new bespoke machine builds by our experienced application engineers.

Our PDH sealing technology is suitable for the following materials: polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyester, polyvinylchloride, laminate, biodegradable and compostable films and laminated/lacquered heat seal paper and board products.
